I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about...
There are many resources and places to find inspiration as an early childhood professional, more than what was available to me when I first started in this profession 25 years ago.
Many ECE pages offer content based on activities and ideas. I adore and follow many of these pages.
I am on a mission to Transform ECE; therefore, the content I share reflects this journey. At times it may make you challenge your thinking which can be very uncomfortable. Still, I believe that to grow, we need to feel uncomfortable.
The fantastic thing about autonomy and agency is we can choose to follow and unfollow whomever we want at any time without announcing our arrival or our departure.
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about Covid and Vaccinations?
Because I believe in community care. I see it as a responsibility to use my privilege, power, and resources to help the entire community.
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about LGBTQ + issues?
Because I am an early childhood advocate. I fully value, honor, and support children, families, and educators. Everyone deserves to be their true selves.
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about Black lives, People of Color, Marginalized People?
Because I see myself as a co-learner. I am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow. To be an advocate, I need to know how to listen to the needs of the people within these communities.
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about anxiety and depression?
Because we need to destigmatize mental health care. Our children have the right to grow up in a world where they can openly and honestly discuss their mental health needs.
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about reproductive rights?
Because I believe in supporting a child's right to autonomy and agency. Why wouldn't I continue to fight for this when that child grows into adulthood?
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about politics?
Because information is power and everything is political.
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about healthcare?
Because healthcare is a right and not a privilege. Every person in the US has the right to mental and physical healthcare that doesn't bankrupt their families.
I thought this was an ECE page why do you post about your family, dogs, and chickens ?
Because I want anyone who follows my page to know that an actual human manages the content. Not a team, one person with feelings who is doing their best to help transform early childhood education.
